This area stretches from the gulf coast to just before the up-and-coming University Town Center (at Whitfield Rd), covering the area north of University Parkway. The gulf cost area is home to Sarasota’s airport (SRQ), Ringling College of Art and Design, New College, and the Ringling museum. Driving west to east, from the coast to the UTC area, takes you past numerous shopping centers (which include grocery stores, sit-down and quick dining, boutique fitness clubs like Pure Barre and Cycle Bar, and more) and Palm Aire country club, until you arrive at the mecca that is becoming UTC. The UTC area has endless shopping and dining areas, as well as the beautiful Nathan Benderson Park.
